You don't have to explain what it means to not quite belong
For expats, third culture kids, international educators and globally mobile families: counselling with someone who understands this life personally — not just professionally.
You don't have to explain it here.
A counsellor who has lived it
I grew up as a third culture kid and spent 18 years living and working in Asia, in bilingual, multicultural communities. I know what it means to straddle cultures, to grieve places as well as people, to parent in a country that isn't your own, and to build a sense of identity when the usual reference points keep shifting.
The weight this life carries
Frequent relocations and goodbyes. Distance from family at the moments it matters most. The question of where home is — and the quiet ache when there's no easy answer. Belonging everywhere a little and nowhere completely.
These experiences are real, and they deserve more than "but what an adventure!" If you're an expat parent, a teacher in an international school, or someone who has spent life moving between worlds, you'll find a counsellor here who genuinely gets it.
Online, from the comfort of your home
I can work online and in some cases across time zones. Please get in contact to discuss whether working together in your particular location would work. I also work in person from East Kent (UK).
Where and how we'd work
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £55, with concessions sometimes available. We can meet in person in a peaceful farm setting near Ash in East Kent (between Canterbury and Sandwich, easy to reach from Deal, Dover and Thanet), at Lighthouse43 in Folkestone, or online, wherever you are. It always starts with a free, no-pressure 20-minute call.
